The Mason-Dodd Lab
The experiments in the Mason-Dodd lab focus on the development of the visual system and spinal cord, their neuronal origins, differentiation, and axon guidance. We use the mouse for these studies because the generation of cell subtypes and the extension and interactions between growing axons can only be properly studied in the context of the whole animal or using primary cell cultures from the animal.
